Job Description:
The Health Planning Council of SW Florida/Gulf Central Early Steps is seeking a Florida licensed Speech Therapist to work with families of infants and toddlers with developmental delays.

Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:
At least one year of experience with children birth - 5 years old and their families is preferred.
The ability to drive your own car is essential.

Education:
Master's (Preferred)

Communication Skills:
1 year (Preferred) Pediatrics

Experience:
1 year (Preferred)

Language:

Job Description:
Early Steps is one of the programs of non-profit agency The Health Planning Council of Southwest Florida. Early Steps provides services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays. We are looking for someone who has expertise in Medical billing and who wants to work with a team to make a difference in these children and their families. The Services billing coordinator works with the services coordinators and other billing specialists to help families understand their insurance coverage, support services coordinators and problem solve the billing process to ensure the early steps program can collect payments from third-party insurance. We are looking for someone who has a knowledge of medical billing, is willing to learn about the early steps program, likes to problem solve and can communicate well with others.

Responsibilities:
  • The Services billing coordinator works with the services coordinators and other billing specialists to help families understand their insurance coverage, support services coordinators and problem solve the billing process to ensure the early steps program can collect payments from third-party insurance
  • Assisting service coordinators with analysis of the child’s insurance coverage.
  • Basic training of service coordinators on insurance and Medicaid.
  • Obtaining Prior authorization for insurance and Medicaid if required
 
  • Maintenance of insurance and Medicaid information in the early steps data system
  • Assist with manual submission of claims to insurance and Medicaid plans if necessary
  • Follow up with claim denials related to specific individuals
  • Analysis of insurance explanation of payment documents and Medicaid remittance advice documents
  • Support of the billing specialists with data entry and denial analysis
  • Problem solving early steps insurance and Medicaid denials and access to insurance billing at the local and state level
